In autunno è uscito un nuovo libro sulla ceramica contemporanea edito dalla prestigiosa Thames and Hudson.
Ad opera di Emmanuel Cooper, ceramista e direttore della mia bibbia Ceramic Review, nonchè professore emerito del mitico Royal College of Art, questo libro ci regala un panorama sulle opere più innovative dalle installazioni all aproduzione di oggetti funzionali.
Correlato da bellissime immagini, è diviso in 5 capitoli ognuno dedicato ad un particolare uso della ceramica. La copertina è dedicata a Barnaby Barford, ceramista inglese che recupera vecchie statuette in porcellana con cui ricrea nuovi ironici scenari. Malgrado non troppo approfondito questo libro apre una finestra sui diversi aspetti e le diverse possibilità della ceramica contemporanea. Da Novembre fa parte della mia libreria.

We start from functional ceramics, pass the sculptures, turn at the installation all the way to the collaboration between the industries and the artist. The cover is dedicated to Barnaby Barford, english ceramist who re-work old porcelain figurines into new ironic and often slightly disturbing scenarios.
