Brian Giniewski

L'esposizione si รจ tenuta Archives of Nova Scotia in Halifax.

A while ago a ceramist based in Halifax sent me some pictures and text of his latest exhibition.
Normally I don't post whatever that gets through the mail, but I am more than happy to give some space to well developed projects. So here is Brian Giniewski, a graduate of the Cranbrook Academy of Art Ceramics currently teaching at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Edifice, Artifice 'Giniwski’s vessels vacillate between appearing both industrial and hand made, summoning craft at the same time it disguises it. This oscillation provides a kind of illustration of the model, not so much as imaginary, but as an idea of an absolute, subject to its own endless recasting. These garniture sets are not only ideas of garniture, but representative of the idea of an absolute form of parasisticism: amassed personalization.' Shannon Stratton, Director and Curator of Threewalls Gallery in Chicago.
The exhibition was held
at the Archives of Nova Scotia in Halifax.
