Niisato Akio

fortunati !!

Love great craft galleries, all the beautiful materials: ceramics, glass, metal, textiles worked in amazing ways.
Keiko Gallery is one of this great places, the gallery based in Boston deals with contemporary Japanese craft, the artists represented are superb, have a look at the gallery site and browse through the pictures for great inspiration !!

Here are some pieces by ceramist Niisato Akio

Ceramic artist, NIISATO Akio received the grant from Japanese Government and stays in Harvard Ceramic Program as an artist in residence from September 2011 to July 2012.

Bettles, Bugs and Butterflies

Great installation by Anna Collette Hunt !!

"I have created a very special exhibit for
Made in the Middle, which is Craftspace’s 18 month touring exhibition to be launched at mac Birmingham on the 13th of February 2012. The exhibit is called The Entomologist which is a new interpretation of Stirring the Swarm from the perspective of a scientist who discovered the curious phenomenon at Wollaton Hall. The scientist has been tracking the swarm, and capturing insects to study.  Her actions however have not gone unnoticed and after recently enraging the swarm by capturing their Queen, a plague of insects has sieged her office, seeking vengeance.
This exciting interactive exhibit is accompanied by the world’s first ceramic IPhone App, which I was commissioned to produce by Made in the Middle to support my exhibit. This curious App enables users to gain a unique insight into my creative world, and features information and images of the Swarm. It also has a beetle builder activity, so that you can contribution to a growing online digital swarm."
