ICMEA è l'acronimo dell'organizzazione internazionale degli editori di giornali dedicati alla ceramica, si tiene in Cina nel villaggio di Fuping.

Zelli Porcelain 2009
Porcellana ProverbialeIl tema del sesto Premio Zelli per la scultura in porcellana, che si terrà in Ottobre, è 'Proverbi'. Gli artisti sono invitati a scegliere tra 8 proverbi, ogniuno proveniente da un paese diverso, per la realizzazione della loro opera. Le opere realizzate saranno giudicate da una giuria di tre esperti, e il vinsitore riceverà un premio di 3.000 sterline. Un premio di 500 sterline verrà assegnato alla scultura che avrà fatto il miglior uso del colore. Le sculture selezionate verranno esposte nella Galleria Zelli per due settimane. Proverbial Porcelain
The theme of the sixth Zelli Award for porcelain sculpture,to take place in October 2009, is ‘Proverbs’. Artists are invited to choose from eight proverbs, each one from a different country, for their work.The short-listed entries will be judged by a panel of three experts, and the winner will receive a prize of £3000. There will be an additional prize of £500 for the sculpture showing the best use of colour. The short-listed sculptures will be exhibited in Zelli’s West End gallery for two weeks during the period of the Award. All interested artists are invited to apply for further details to:

Concorso Internazionale della Ceramica d’Arte Contemporanea
Dal 28 giugno al 20 settebre 2009 si potranno ammirare le opere dei vincitori del 56° Concorso della Ceramica d'Arte di Faenza. Questa'anno la Giuria - composta da Jadranka Bentini (direttore del Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza), Franco Bertoni (esperto delle Collezioni moderne e contemporanee del Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza), David Cameo(direttore della Manifattura Nazionale di Sèvres), Luigi Ontani (artista), Matteo Zauli (direttore del Museo Zauli, Faenza) - ha conferito il primo premio ad ex-equo all'artista giapponese Tomonari Kato (già vincitore di un premio minore nel 2007) e all'italiano Andrea Salvatori. Entrambi under 40 questi due artisti rappresentano due correnti diverse nella ceramica contemporanea, la prima verso una perfezione formale e la seconda più vicino alla narrazione e all'osservazione ironica della realtà.

From the 28th of June until the 20th the MIC (International Museum of Ceramics) in Faenza is exhibiting the winners of the prestigious "Faenza Prize". The Gury represented by Jadranka Bentini (director of Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza), Franco Bertoni(expert on modern and contemporary collections at Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza),David Cameo(director of National Manifacture of Sèvres),Luigi Ontani (artista), Matteo Zauli (director of Museo Zauli, Faenza) have assigned the prize equally to two artists, the japanese Tomonari Kato (winner of a minor prize in 2007) and the italian Andrea Salvatori. Both under 40, the artists represent two different tendencies, one of formal perfection and the other more interested in the narration and the ironic look on our times.

Jerwood Makers Open
Artists from across making disciplines are invited to submit proposals for the next Jerwood Makers Open, a £37,500 exhibition and commissioning opportunity from Jerwood Visual Arts (JVA); a contemporary gallery programme supported and managed by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation. Five commissions of £7,500 will be awarded to artists to create new work, which will be exhibited as part of the JVA programme at Jerwood Space, London. Artists will be chosen by an independent selection panel and must be a UK resident and within 10 years of graduating or setting up their practice.
