La Porcellana è Divertente!
Abitualmente pensiamo alla porcellana come un materiale difficile, riservato solo ai professionisti, qualcosa da prendere molto seriamente. Perfortuna c'è chi non la pensa così e ha deciso di cambiare le regole. Sono Matt Katz e Dave Finkelburg, rispettivamente un artista che fa l'ingegnere, ed un ingegnere che fa vasi, già da questo si capisce come ai due piaccia mischiare le carte in tavola. Conosciutisi presso la Alfred University-The New York State College of Ceramics, i nostri eroi hanno cominciato a chiedersi perchè non ci fosse una porcellana più accessibile, una porcellana per tutti. Così nasce Porcelain for the People, impasto e colaggio di porcellana che si comporta come un gres. Wow! Purtroppo New York è lontana, ma vi venisse la tentazione il negozio on-line è aperto. Porcelain is Fun!
Normally we would think of porcelain has a very difficult material, only for professionals, something that has to be taken very seriously. Luckily someone doesn't share this view and decided to to something about it. Here come Matt Katz and Dave Finkelburg, respectively artist working as an engineer, and an engineer that throw pots. The two met at Alfred University-The New York State College of Ceramics, and decided to create a porcelain that was easier to use, a porcelain for everybody, Porcelain for the People was born! A clay body and a casting slip that behaves...Wow! Unfortunately New York is a bit far, but if you are closer, their on-line shop is now open. Or in the meantime have fun with Matt's Blog.
