La settimana scorsa vi ho parlato del Espacio Jordana, la bellissima galleria madrilena della ceramista Pepa Jordana. Pepa è una donna molto "amabile" (come dicono da queste parti) una bella signora con una distinata personalità e un'artista con uno stile molto personale.
Le sue opere, mi spiega, sono ispirate dalla sua prima passione la carta. I lavori in ceramica vengono realizzati con un metodo simile a quello che si impiega nella fattura della carta artigianale, e sono caratterizzati da strati geometrici diversi e misteriosi.

Mentre ammiravo gli altri pezzi che Pepa ha in galleria, le ho confessato la mia ignoranza in materia di ceramica contemporanea spagnola, conosco Rafa Perez e Alberto Hernandez e poi ?

Pepa mi ha mostrato il lavoro di alcune ceramiste dallo stile diverso ma molto interessante come Maria Bofill e Marìa Ortiza, e mi ha regalato un magnifico catalogo che mi sto gustando giorno per giorno. Cerámica española para el siglo XXI grazie alla gentilezza e alla disponibilità di Pepa sto imparando muchissimas cosas!

Last week I told about the encounter with the lovely Pepa Jordana, at Espacio Jordana her beautiful gallery in the heart of Madrid. Pepa is a very interesting artists and an amazing woman. Her kindness touched my heart and her helpfulness made my day ! Pepa showed my her works, beautiful panels conceived with a special technique she used to make artisanal paper.
Geometry and poetry melt in her subtle pieces.
























She had some other interesting pieces in the gallery, almost all from Spanish ceramists, and I had to confess my lackings ...I know Rafa Perez and Alberto Hernandez, but I had not been looking enough in to this part of the world. Upon this confession, Pepa handed my a wonderful catalogue of an exhibition held in 2010 in Taiwan, Cerámica española para el siglo XXI , a great view on some of the most interesting ceramists working in Spain today.
I extremely enjoyed the work of Maria Bofill and Marìa Ortiza, but I am just at the beginning!
