Modus Design nasce dalla mente e dalle mani di Marek Cecula, noto artista della ceramica, designer ed educatore per anni a capo del dipartimento della mitica Parsons School di New York. Modus Design si specializza in ceramiche innovative che integrano l'artigianato e l'industria.

La collezione NATURA nasce dalla collaborazione di Cecula con Edyta Cieloch, ceramista polacca affascinata dal design industriale.

"Questa nuova collezione si basa sull'impronta diretta che elementi naturali come alberi, pietre e terra, lasciano su oggetti in ceramica.
In questo progetto, il designer decide di non dare una nuova forma all'oggetto, ma di diventare mediatore tra elementi naturali e oggetti d'uso.
Il designer diventa un osservatore che seleziona, dalla ricca risorsa della natura, parti e forme che possono essere trasformate in necessità funzionali con il minimo intervento possibile da parte del creatore.
L'intento è quello di introdurre la natura nell'ambiente domestico e offrire oggetti funzionali che conservino il carattere di alberi, pietre e terra.
Sul nostro tavolo da pranzo, queste forme grezze e dalla superficie articolata diventano un ricordo e punto di riferimento per capire quanto ci siamo allontanati dal mondo naturale e come siamo abituati all'estetica creata dall'uomo con tutte quelle linee rifinite che disegnano il nostro mondo utilitaristico."

'New collection “Natura” is based on direct imprint of the natural elements like tree, stone and earth on the ceramic objects.

In this work designer choosing not to invent the form of the object,
but to become a mediator between naturally existing elements and the utility.
Designer become an observer who selects from rich resources of nature, parts and shapes that can be translated into functional necessity with minimum intervention from the maker.

The intention is to introduce nature into domestic environment
and offer functional product based on the original character
of tree, stone and earth.

On our dining table those raw and textured forms
become reminder and reference point of a distant
we made from the natural world and how we become
custom to man made aesthetics with all the refine shapes
that forming our utilitarian world.'
