La Via Crucis
Meno famose delle sue tele ma non per questo meno belle, sono le ceramiche realizzate da Lucio Fontana. In una sua estesa personale diversi anni fa', avevo potuto ammirare la bellezza disarmante e la forza dirompente dei suoi Concetti Spaziali in creta.
La Via Crucis è composta di 14 formelle in ceramica, realizzate da Fontana per l'istituto per ragazze madri Ada Bolchini. Un anno fa' era stata messa in vendita per finanziare nuove opere dello stesso istituto, ma l'asta fallì, forse per il prezzo o per l'impossibilità di dividere l'opera o esportarla (ordine della Sovraintendenza). Alla fine è stata acquistata dalla regione Lombardia a prezzo scontato, che la metterà in mostra al Grattacielo Pirelli, e poi la destinerà al Museo Diocesano Paolo Diocesano.


















Less famous than his paintings but equally amazing, Lucio Fontana's ceramics hold a special place in my heart. I saw some of his bronze and ceramics, all equally titled 'Spatial Concept', many years ago in an extensive personal exhibition and I was so moved by their strength and character. Via Crucis is made of 14 ceramic tiles, created by Fontana for a single mother's institution in Milan. They went on auction last year, but maybe the price or the impossibility to sell them separately or moved them abroad, had scared away any possible buyer. Finally the Regione Lombardia has decided to buy them at a discounted sum, Via Crucia will be hosted first at Grattacielo Pirelli and then moved to Museo Diocesiano Paolo Biscottini, both in Milan.
