Luca Tripaldi è uno di quei ceramisti che riesce nel difficilissimo compito di infondere a pezzi che crea un'anima. Guardando le sue creazioni abbiamo l'impressione che per esistere non abbiano bisogno della sua presenza, ma siano animate da vita propria. Questa è una dote molte speciale, che ha a che fare relativamente con la bravura tecnica, e molto di più con l'ispirazione.
Mi vengono in mente le migliaia di cilindri, ad occhio inesperto tutti identici, realizzati dal maestro Shoi Hamada, prima di ritenersi soddisfatto del risultato.
Gli smalti a cristalli matt, che circondano le sue creazioni, tradiscono un intenso lavoro di ricerca e sperimentazione.
Unico ceramista italiano a Ceramic Art Fair 2009, l'eccellente fiera londinese per la "studio pottery", ha vissuto un'eperienza davvero interessante dal punto di vista della professionalità e della collaborazione. Mi ha raccontato come, sopratutto nel rapporto tra colleghi ci sia uno scambio di informazioni che contribuisce alla realizzazione di un tessuto fondamentale per la vita di un ceramica d'eccellenza.

Luca Tripaldi is one of those few potters that succeeds in giving a soul to his creations. Looking at his pieces we have the impression that they are animated by a life of their own. This is a very special gift that has a lot more to do with inspiration than excellent tecnique. It brings to mind the milions of cilinders Shoi Hamada used to throw, all identical to an inexperience eye, before feeling satisfied with the result.
The glazes with matt crystals that surround the body of his pieces, reveal a laborious work of experimentation and trial.
The only Italian potter participating Ceramic Art Fair 2009, the prestigious London's fair for studio pottery, Luca experienced the professionalism of the English ceramic world. He told me, that especially in the relationships among colleagues, the exchange of informations contribute to the construction of a solid base for the growth of top quality ceramics.
