La Natura e l'Arte
Alfredo Gioventù e Daniela Mangini sono due artisti artigiani; artisti perché lavorano con le regole e gli strumenti delle arti visive, artigiani perché le opere che realizzano sono completamente autoprodotte, fatte a mano con una particolarissima ceramica, da noi sperimentata, che ci permette di reinventare i sassi delle spiagge liguri.
Con le competenze di una antica bottega artigiana e con la consapevolezza culturale che la nostra epoca pretende, affrontano il tema uomo-arte-natura a partire dagli spunti che offre il loro territorio, cercando così di portare nel rito dell'abitare nuovi oggetti o opere dalle forti capacità evocative.
Le opere di questo intraprendente duo ingannano i sensi e i preconcetti, sassi che galleggiano, che si fanno: quadro, teiera, vaso; che sfidano la gravità.
Di queste opere amo sia la parte concettuale che quella sensoriale, chi ha incontrato questi sassi non può che ammirarne la naturale bellezza ed armonia. Nature and Art
Alfredo Gioventù and Daniela Mangini are two craftsmen/artists; artists because the work within the rules and using the tools of visual art; craftsmen bhecuse their pieces are entirely self-made, hand-made with a special ceramic material created by them, that resemble the pebbles on Liguria's beaches. With the experience of a traditional pottery and the cultural knowledge claimed by our times, they face the theme Man-Art-Nature taking as a starting point the environment of Liguria, ( a beautiful region of north-west Italy), trying to bring new objects and strong evocative images into the art of living.
The work of this enthusiastic duo plays around with our senses and our prejudices, floating pebbles, bi-dimensional pebbles, defying gravity pebbles, hollow pebbles and pebbles-pots. I love both the conceptual and the sensual work behind these creations, looking at them you can't stop admiring their natural beauty and harmony.
