Roland Summer è un ceramista austriaco che mi incanta con le sue superfici di terra sigillata. Al momento ha una personale presso il International Ceramics Museum di Weiden ed è stato selezionato per il prestigioso Westerwald Prize...e ha anche avuto il tempo di rispondere alle mie domande!

CV: Che aspetto della tua personalità ti è più utile nel tuo lavoro?
RS: L'ostinazione

CV: Qual'e il tuo pezzo in ceramica preferito?
RS: Sono troppi per nominarli

CV: Da cosa trai ispirazione?
RS: Dal lavoro che sto facendo, dai miei viaggio, da quello che mi circonda, dalla mia percezione di tutti i giorni e da tutto quello che fa battere il mio cuore più velocemente.

CV: Se potessi scegliere dove vivere/lavorare nel mondo, dove andresti?
RS: Un posto con gente di mentalità aperta, circondato dalla natura e con la possibilità di vivere il cambio delle stagioni. E dove poter vendere i miei lavori più facilmente che nella mia zona.

Roland Summer creates beautiful surfaces with the ancient technique of terra sigillata. He has a solo show at the International Ceramics Museum Weiden, and was selected for the prestigious Westerwald Prize. I think his work is pretty amazing and here are his answers:

RS: Sensitivity, slowliness, harmony, sensuality, fragility

CV: What aspect of your personality is more useful in your practice?

RS: Persistency

CV: What is your favourite ceramic piece of all times ?

RS: To many to qualify that

CV: Where do you get your inspiration from?

RS: From my ongoing work, my travels and environment, and my everyday perception, and everything that makes your heart beat faster

CV: If you could choose where to live/work in the world, where would you go?
RS: A lot of places with open minded people, nature around and the ability to perceive the seasons. And where it is possible to sell my work easier than in my area.
